Institute for Contemporary Art Pittsburgh

About

At the Institute for Contemporary Art Pittsburgh (ICA Pittsburgh) at Carnegie Mellon University, we believe art opens doors—to new ideas, to shared experiences, and to each other. As a new, dynamic forum for artistic expression and interdisciplinary research, the ICA Pittsburgh builds on the legacy of the Miller ICA and CMU’s tradition of innovation.

When our new, purpose-built space opens within the Richard King Mellon Hall of Sciences in Fall 2027, we will create even stronger bridges between the university and the civic sphere—fostering connection, curiosity, and exchange across communities and disciplines. Through our exhibitions, live programs, and collaborations with artists, curators, educators, and students, we will share knowledge and spark dialogue around the most urgent issues of our time.
